What does the online training program consist of?

Each month you will receive a full training plan customized for you based on your goals. Each workout is accessible through the app with video demonstrations, instructions, sets, reps, and everything else you need to know. In addition to the training program, you receive ongoing support from me as your coach through messaging and email. I am available to answer any questions that come up or just to check in on how your workouts are going that week. I recommend checking out the Online Training page that gives more detail on each step of the process.

Do I need to be a member of Lateral Fitness in order to train with you there?

No, you do not need to be a member. You would be able to use the facility during our scheduled sessions without any additional charge.

I don’t have a gym membership or access to equipment. Can I still do online coaching or personal training?

Absolutely! I create the programs based on what, if any, equipment you have access to. While I do recommend getting a couple of basic pieces of equipment down the road if you will be working out at home long term (check out my “Equipment” page for my recommendations), we can still make a lot of progress with no equipment. I also am available to train you at a facility nearby, Lateral Fitness, of which you do not need to be a member at in order to do personal training.

What exactly is health coaching?

First and foremost, health coaching is not personal training. Health coaching is based on behavior change and motivation. Health coaches help clients uncover the “why” behind their desired behavior change and help the client to set and achieve their heath goals and build new habits. People seek out health coaches for a variety of reasons - from weight loss, to stress management, dietary changes, management of chronic conditions, smoking cessation, increasing physical activity, improved sleep, and more. Some come to me with a specific behavior change in mind. Others come to me knowing they need or want to make some changes in their life, but may feel overwhelmed or lost as to where to start and how to stay on track.

I don’t live in Chicago. Can I still work with you?

Yes. My online training, virtual personal training, and health coaching services are available to anyone, regardless of location.

I’m interested in personal training but I travel frequently for work. What’s the best option for me?

No problem. We can have our in-person training sessions when you are here, then either switch to virtual sessions or an online training program for when you are traveling to keep you on track.

There are so many options out there. Why should I choose Tunney Training?

Great question! There are a ton of resources out there - from monthly apps, to Instagram fitness influencers, to free 30 day challenges, to YouTube videos, and the list goes on. What I provide is different. I’m not just here to tell you what to do, give you a random workout, or provide a “quick fix." Every session and every program is individualized for you and your needs. I’m here to coach, motivate, support, and guide you every step of the way. That is the key to long term success.
